Verrmeer was Dutch painter who lived out his life in the city of Delft. The book and the film of the same title are named after this painting. They present a fictional account of its creation and his relationship with the model. Painted in 1665,'Girl with a Pearl Earring' is considered a Vermeer masterpiece.
