Tudor Court Cupboard
One of the most important pieces of furniture In Elizabethan and Jacobean houses and was fashionable between 1550 and 1675. In one of its uses it was a sideboard of its period, housing cups and glasses and condiments etc.
Another important use was to display the master's "plate" - silver and gold vessels. This made his wealth usable and socially visible as well as being readily reconvertable into coins if necessary.
